For Detroit-metro tow operators

Paid like a business.
Not like a vendor.

AAA pays the operator $40 on a job that retails for $250. That math is why your phone rings last on AAA jobs and why your customers wait two-to-five hours.

We're building RoadKin to flip the spread — operators paid first, owners charged transparently, no middleman skim. Launching in Detroit · Warren · Dearborn · Sterling Heightsthis fall. We're lining up the founding 5 operators now.

The math, on a per-call tow

We pay operators 1.8–2.0× AAA — sized for Michigan's commercial-auto baseline.

Typical AAA job

$40owner pays $250

The status quo. They take the spread.

RoadKin (Detroit, MI)

$120owner pays $200

Operator gets 1.8× AAA. Owner pays less than retail. 15–18% platform fee.

Net to you

+$80

Per call, vs. an AAA dispatch. That's the wedge.

Final per-call pay tiers will be set by service type (tow / jumpstart / lockout / fuel / tire change) after we close the founding-5 interviews and our Michigan E&O policy is bound.

What we offer · what we ask

No surprises. No exclusivity. The deal is the deal.

What you get from RoadKin

  • 1.8–2.0× AAA per-call rates, posted up front
  • Stripe Connect — paid the day the job closes
  • Platform fee capped at 15–18%, no surge skim
  • You set hours, service area, minimums
  • No exclusivity — keep your AAA / Honk / Agero accounts
  • Marketplace E&O coverage for dispatched calls (binding before launch)

What we ask of you

  • Active MI tow license for the cities you cover
  • Commercial auto + general liability (yours, not ours)
  • Truck dashcam — legal armor for both of us
  • Accept or decline within 90 seconds of dispatch
  • Clean Checkr screen at onboarding
  • Honesty on the call — we'd rather hear no than waste your time

What this signup actually does

We're lining up 5 founding operator interviews. 30 minutes, zero pressure.

01

You send the form

We get the basics: fleet size, service area, current networks. Five minutes, no account.

02

We schedule a 30-min call

Phone or video, your call. We bring real numbers; you tell us what's broken about the gigs you take today.

03

If the math works, we onboard

Stripe Connect link, Checkr, operator app TestFlight. Launch when the founding 5 are locked in.

Detroit summer 2026 launch. We're holding the launch until founding-operator pay math is validated and Michigan E&O is bound. If the numbers don't pencil for the operators we talk to, we won't ship — and we'll tell you that, on the call.

The most useful question we can ask. Gripe freely — we read every word.

Pay rates, payout speed, account-rep ghosting, dispatch quality, exclusivity clauses — anything.
